5 Reasons You Need to Hire a Content Marketer

Is hiring a content marketer the answer to your frustration?  Maybe. The truth is, you probably did not go into business to be a content marketer, but in today’s digital landscape content marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business visibility and show your expertise.  Here are 5 reasons you should consider hiring a content marketer.

1. Time

Ah, time!  Time is one thing you probably struggle with if you are like most business owners.   The harsh reality of being a business owner is that time is money and creating and implementing a successful content strategy is really a full-time job.  This leaves you with no time to actually build your business and little time to service your existing clients.

Allow me to explain it this way.  If you have clients you need time to provide excellent service to them (good is no longer good enough).  You also need time to network and do administrative tasks (unless you are fortunate enough to have a good virtual assistant).  You also need time to build your business because if you don’t build, you will not be increasing your revenue.

Okay, now let’s add a content marketing strategy to the mix. If you are in the growth cycle of your business, you should blog no less than once per week, email your blog to your list, distribute your blog to social media channels, create social media content from your blog post, schedule and distribute it to your social media channels, create freebies and eBooks for your sales funnel so you can grow your list, and promote them on your social media platforms.

You also need to promote any products and services regularly to keep them in front of people (remember to keep promotions to 20% or less in your posting strategy).

Are you tired yet?  Will you still have time for your family or a long weekend away?  Probably not if you are serious about doing it right.  The truth is time is the #1 reason most business owners should consider hiring someone to do their content marketing.

2. Knowledge

Unless you are a content marketer, you probably don’t have the time to keep up on social media changes, rules, Google changes, and all of the other things we marketers love to read about.  You see, we thrive on this information and devour it every day.  If you are serious about your business and are trying to build your empire, you should not have time to read all the articles we read daily.  You are not superhuman, and trying to do it all adds stress to your business unnecessarily.

Marketers talk to other marketers regularly and keep up on industry changes and rules. This is OUR passion.  We want to help you so you can enjoy yours!

3. Strategy

Unless you intuitively understand marketing, you probably don’t understand the complexities of putting together a content marketing strategy.  In addition to that, the mere thought of analyzing results and monitoring statistics sends most people running for the hills.  Marketers love the stats.  We live in our stats and challenge ourselves by the stats. We have tried and tested many strategies and will continue to do so for your business.  Developing a great content strategy, executing it, monitoring it, and making necessary changes is what we do!  It can be very time-consuming.

Implementing a great content strategy is one of the best ways to market your business today.  Hiring a professional to do it or to help you will increase the odds of your success, especially if you are unfamiliar with marketing principles and practices.

4. Results

This is what it is all about!  A content marketer will help you get better results by developing and executing a strategy based on experience.  Not only that but you will have the time to build and grow your business into the one you wanted when you started your business.  This alleviates stress, gives you peace of mind and frees up your time to concentrate on your current clients and meet with new ones!  Hiring a content marketer will enable you to achieve better results with your content strategy AND better results finding new clients for your business because you will actually have the time to spend finding them.  It is a winning strategy for most business owners.

5. You are not good at writing, content creation, and marketing/ You just don’t want to or like to do it

Okay, so this last one is a biggie.  I say this because I see two kinds of people who fall into the not good at it category.  There are those who think they are good at it but are not and refuse to acknowledge why they are not getting the results they should.  And then there are those who do recognize it is not their strength and seek out the help of a content marketer. Some business owners just don’t want to be bothered with it at all.

If you don’t like content creation, don’t want to do it, are not good at it, or it just stresses you out and sucks up all your time, you probably understand that you need to hire a content marketer.  If you are not getting results, you should probably re-evaluate what you are doing and work with a content marketer to get on track.  If you love content creation and blogging, but find yourself stressed out or under time limitations, you may want to hire someone to help you with different pieces of the process so you can get some breathing room.

The fact is that many business owners feel that they can do it all themselves.  The truth is most quickly burn out or cannot maintain everything to the level it takes to grow their business into the one they dreamed of.  Why not hire someone to help to get there?
