Business Plan

We are in the last quarter of the year, and if you are not on track to reach your goals for the year, then you are probably feeling the pressure right now.

The truth is, it has been a rough year for many entrepreneurs, but that does not mean you should give up on your goals. There are plenty of things you can do this year to end the year strong and start the new year off on the right track.

As a business coach, I see entrepreneurs scrambling at the end of the year to make sales. They are overwhelmed and stressed out - especially when they have not been reaching their goals in the previous months of the year. So, take a deep breath, and let's dig into how you can end strong this year and start next year ahead of the game.

1. Holiday Promotions

If you don't have your Holiday promotions ready, you are already late! Depending on what your promotion is, you will want to promote it now, and no matter what it is, you will want to create excitement for it!

So even if you do not have your holiday promotions ready yet, you can still start to create excitement for them NOW! Creating excitement now will make them look forward to when your sale goes up. They will be ready and waiting to buy!

Remember, people will be looking for deep discounts and big savings, so create something good that YOUR customers will buy. The sooner you start talking about your Holiday promotions, the better!

2. Launches and Releases

You should have at least one more launch scheduled for the last quarter. Whether you launch quarterly or monthly, you should have them all scheduled out and know exactly what you will be talking about for each one. This will create ease in your business because you won't be scrambling for ideas at the last minute.

Another reason you want to have your launches scheduled out now is that it makes deciding on your holiday promotions and promoting them easier because you already know what you will be talking about so you can tailor your offers to your launches!

If you are releasing a book, an app, or anything else, you want to hype it up NOW. Do not wait! People buy when they are anticipating something. Think of Apple - they hype up the new version of the iPhone long before it is released. They also have people waiting in line for hours on the day it is released!

3. Marketing Plans and Content Strategy

I am putting these together as one thing even though they are slightly different.

Your marketing plan should include any pieces of marketing you are planning for the year. It includes content as well as promotions.

Your content strategy is the pieces of value-based content that would be put out to the world to attract clients.

If you plan both of these, you will have a synergistic approach to your content and marketing strategies. Everything will flow together and work together to draw in your ideal clients and repel those you don't want. The content you create should also be planned to drive people to your promotions.

A well-thought-out marketing and content strategy enable you to draw in the right people, provide value, and drive them to the products and services they will want.

And while you can execute a 90-day strategy and end the year strong. You should also be working on your marketing and content strategy for next year. When you plan out your marketing and content, it takes a lot less time and effort. This allows you to concentrate on sales calls and talking to potential clients!

4. Business Plan

You may or may not have a business plan for this year. If you do- great! Pull it out and look at where you are in comparison to where your plan has you. Are you on track? Kudos if you are. If not, look back through your plan and see where you can make adjustments for the next 90 days to get you back to where you need to be and execute your new plan!

Whether you have a plan for this year or not, it is also time to work on a business plan for next year!

If you have a plan for this year, evaluate your plan. How did you do? Are there adjustments that need to be made? Create a plan for next year that is doable, but challenges you to push yourself.

If you do not have a business plan for this year, do a 15-month plan. Think about what you need to do to meet or exceed your goals for this year, and then look at next year and create your annual business plan.

Some of the things to consider are how much revenue you want. How much net profit do you need? Look at your offers and figure out how many of each offer you need to sell to reach your goals. Is it realistic? Many of my clients find that they must raise their prices in order to reach their goals. And that is great as long as the value is there!

5. Vacation and Time Off

Schedule ALL your time off until the end of the year. Any holiday festivities, parties, networking, and such should be on your calendar so that you can plan accordingly. This allows you to plan your launches and promotions without all the stress.

While you are at it, schedule all your vacations and time off for next year also, that way when you put your business plan for next year together, you can plan well and be prepared ahead of time. This creates so much more ease and flow in your business and allows you more time freedom because you will be planning out for the year!

These are the 5 things all business owners should have in place to end the year strong and start next year on the right track, but that is NOT all you need to do because marketing will NOT land you all the sales you need to meet your goals. so here is a bonus:

Sell - every single day!

Okay, this may seem like a no-brainer, but most entrepreneurs don't sell EVERY day. You may feel like it is a bit much or that you are wearing your audience out with all the selling. But, if you are marketing and selling using social media, only about 1-2% of your audience is seeing your content on any given post. That means that 98-99% of your audience does not even see your sales posts and calls to action. In addition, your competitors will be selling, and if you aren't, guess who gets the sale? They do!

So plan out your days so that you are spending the majority of your time selling. Did you catch that? I said, the MAJORITY of your days. If you are not meeting your goals and you are behind for the year, the ONLY thing that you should be focusing on is selling.

And while I am on the subject, let me bust a myth you may be thinking right now. Your program is NOT the issue. Most of the time, it is simply the fact that you are not having enough sales conversations! Focus on that instead of reinventing your programs. Getting into more conversations will bring you more sales. It's that simple.
