Attract Your Tribe with Leadership and Authority

So often I hear from clients that they want to attract more clients. To do this you must be able to show up in a way that attracts the right clients so that they understand that you are the leader they want to follow.
 
That's right! In order to have the right followers, you must be able to lead with authority. So let's take a look at these two words.

Leadership

According to the Oxford Dictionary. Leadership is the act of leading a group of people or an organization. Some synonyms are guidance, direction, authority, orchestration, initiative, and influence. All of these can be learned.

Authority

Authority is defined as the power to influence others, especially because of one's commanding manner or one's recognized knowledge about something. Some synonyms are power and mastery.

Why Leadership and Authority Matter

Showing up as a leader and authority in your industry commands respect. It attracts followers who look to you for answers to their problems and it sets you apart from others in your industry who are showing up as unsure of themselves, wishy-washy, or who are too "generic."

It's important to show up as a leader online because no matter what you think, people are ALWAYS watching. When they see you showing up as a leader and an authority, they will naturally gravitate to that and follow you.

Another very important reason to show up with leadership and authority is that if you want to attract high-level clients, you must show up at a higher level than they are if you want them to see you as having the answer to their needs.

The bottom line is that how you show up online has everything to do with the tribe you attract.

Leaders own their authority!

While owning your authority is super important, it is also important to understand that you must also show up authentically. Authenticity allows your audience to connect with you on a deeper level because this is the piece that allows them to see they can relate to you, that you are human, and that you are not perfect.

It's important to understand that you can be a powerful leader and show up with authority, and still have flaws, still make mistakes, and still mess up. You must be able to own your awesomeness as well as your mistakes and imperfections. This makes you relatable.

When a leader makes a mistake, they own that mistake, and then they take action to correct it and make it right. A leader's identity is not derived from always being right, but in taking decisive action no matter what they face. They confidently stand in their authority.

So, as you can see, when you show up with leadership and authority, you will attract the right people who want what you have, who relate to you, and who see you as an authority in your industry. This is why it is important to work on yourself so that you can be the powerful leader who attracts the right tribe!
